Interested in applying to the UBC School of Journalism and have some questions? Join us for a live Twitter chat with senior instructor Kathryn Gretsinger (@kgretsinger) to find out more about the program, the school’s approaches to journalism and teaching and what we offer.
To ask your question simply tweet @UBCJournalism using the hashtag #UBCJchat.
This is the first of the #UBCJchats series we’re holding throughout January.
Kathryn Gretsinger is the senior instructor in the School’s Integrated Journalism program and also contributes to the International Reporting program and the Reporting in Indigenous Communities course. She also runs the School’s internship program, helping to place students in professional practicums across Canada and the world.
Her career in journalism began in the late 80s when she joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Canada’s public broadcaster. Kathryn is committed to public service journalism and she has worked to develop her journalistic skills to reflect the technological change in the industry, applying it to her teaching at the UBC School of Journalism.
Whether you’re interested in learning more about the application process, or want the inside scoop on our program or how we’re making use of new digital storytelling tools, Kathryn will be able to provide answers and feedback on Tuesday January 10 between 4-5p.m. PST.
You can also join her and her students in the classroom on Wednesday January 11th at 11.30a.m. PST, when we’ll be streaming live on our Facebook page to give you an behind-the-scenes look at what we do.
The UBC Journalism submission deadline is January 31st 2017 for September 2017 admission.
