Details: Join us for a free evening talk and Q&A with award-winning, Hong-Kong based American journalist Ying Chan. Chan will be examining the state of digital media and upcoming trends in China, and looking at what this means for journalists, educators and businesses.
Ying Chan is the founding director of the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Prior to joining HKU in1998, Chan spent 23 years working as a journalist in New York, where she reported for the New York Daily News, NBC News, and a number of Chinese language dailies.
Chan has been honoured with both the Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University and the George Polk Award for excellence in American journalism. In 1997, she received the International Press Freedom Award.
